Hello and a very warm welcome to my pipe site. At least I want to provide my English speaking visitors with some short informations about me and this site in there own language.

My name is Joachim Westermann and I´m living in Bochum (near to Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne) in Germany.

In fact I spend two of my best years so far in the United Kingdom (from 1987-1989) and felt very much at home there. I lived there in a few places, like Plymouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Bridgend, Trowbridge, Bridgewater and a few others. In fact I felt never homesick to Germany during this two years, but when I returned to Germany I felt homesick for the U.K. and it took me three months to get adjusted again. Even some of my friends say, that I am more like a British man, by some accident just born in the wrong country. Till today my dreams are in English.

I am working as an International Business Coordinator for one of the leading Germany software companies. In my spare time, I have different interests, for example reading, dogs.

And recently I found a new hobby and passion - pipe smoking. I am pretty new to this (just started in September 2006), but I enjoy this "way of life" so much that I deceided to create this website, to share my experiences.

So at least you know a few things about me and this site, sorry that the complete site is not available in English, but I try to make certain parts available in English or at least try to publish a comment in English, accompanying the German text.
